Declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and World Heritage Site, Manu safeguards an astonishing variety of ecosystems and species, making it a living laboratory of nature.

In just three days, this program allows you to witness the magical transition from the Andean highlands to the dense Amazonian jungle. Beginning in Cusco, you will cross breathtaking mountain passes and picturesque colonial towns before entering the mysterious cloud forest, where orchids bloom, hummingbirds dart through the trees, and Peru’s national bird, the Cock-of-the-Rock, performs its fascinating courtship display.

Descending further into the jungle, you’ll navigate the Alto Madre de Dios River on a scenic boat ride, while observing herons, kingfishers, and cormorants along the riverbanks. Guided hikes will take you deep into the rainforest, where you may encounter playful monkeys, vibrant toucans, and flocks of colorful parrots. Day 1
Day 1: Cusco – Paucartambo – Cloud Forest – Pilcopata
  • Early departure from Cusco, crossing the Andean highlands with stunning views of valleys, terraced fields, and snow-capped peaks.
  • Stop in Paucartambo, a charming colonial town famous for its colorful festivals and traditional architecture.
  • Begin the descent into the Cloud Forest, a magical ecosystem filled with orchids, ferns, bromeliads, and giant tree ferns.
  • Observe diverse birdlife, including quetzals, trogons, hummingbirds, and the vibrant Cock-of-the-Rock, Peru’s national bird, performing its courtship dance.
  • Continue the journey until reaching Pilcopata, a welcoming Amazonian town surrounded by lush vegetation.

Day 2
Day 2: Pilcopata – Atalaya – Alto Madre de Dios River – Jungle Lodge
  • Breakfast at the lodge before a short drive to Atalaya Port, the gateway to the Amazon.
  • Enjoy a scenic boat ride on the Alto Madre de Dios River, with opportunities to spot herons, vultures, kingfishers, and even capybaras along the riverbanks.
  • Embark on a guided jungle hike, discovering medicinal plants, towering ceibas, butterflies, monkeys, and fascinating insects.
  • After lunch, time to relax and enjoy the serenity of the rainforest.
  • In the evening, venture on a night walk to witness nocturnal wildlife such as frogs, tarantulas, and owls.

Day 3
Day 3: Jungle Lodge – Atalaya – Cusco
  • Early morning excursion to a parrot clay lick, where dozens of green parrots and colorful macaws gather to feed on mineral-rich clay.
  • Return by boat to Atalaya Port, enjoying the last glimpses of the jungle wildlife.
  • Drive back through the cloud forest, with stops to appreciate waterfalls, lush vegetation, and possible wildlife sightings.
  • Arrival in Cusco in the evening, concluding this unforgettable Amazon adventure.
