Itinerary
What you will do and explore with us
The journey begins with an early departure from Cusco, heading through the Sacred Valley toward Abra Málaga. After a brief stop in Ollantaytambo for breakfast or last-minute purchases, the adventure truly begins at the mountain pass of Abra Málaga. From this panoramic viewpoint, the descent continues on bicycles until reaching the town of Santa María. After a well-deserved lunch, the group transfers by vehicle to Santa Teresa, where travelers can leave their belongings at the hotel. In the afternoon, there is time to relax at the soothing hot springs of Cocalmayo before enjoying dinner and an overnight stay at a local accommodation.
The day starts with breakfast followed by an exhilarating zipline experience, supervised by specialized instructors. Once the activity is completed, the group continues to Hidroelectrica, where lunch is served. After a short rest, the trekking section begins: a scenic 11-kilometer hike along trails that follow sections of the train tracks and remnants of ancient Inca paths. The hike lasts approximately six hours and culminates in the town of Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, travelers check in at their hotel and may visit the local hot springs before dinner at a tourist restaurant.
The final day begins early with breakfast before heading to Machu Picchu. Travelers can either take the shuttle bus (30 minutes) or hike up the steep stairs (about two hours). Upon arrival at the citadel, a guided tour of approximately three hours unfolds, covering highlights such as the Temple of the Sun, the Main Temple, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Sacred Rock, the Temple of the Condor, and more. The ticket included in this program allows access to Circuit 2, which provides a complete overview of the archaeological site. After the tour, there is free time in Aguas Calientes for lunch. In the afternoon, the group boards the Expedition train (with the option to upgrade to Vistadome) to Ollantaytambo, followed by a bus transfer back to Cusco. The arrival is expected around 9:00 pm.
