Depart early from Cusco and enjoy a scenic 3-hour drive to the starting point of the Rainbow Mountain hike.

The trek begins at approximately 4,700 m (15,420 ft) and takes you through spectacular high-altitude Andean landscapes towards the famous Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain, reaching a maximum altitude of 5,030 m (16,503 ft).

The hike covers approximately 8 km round trip. For those wishing to explore further, the route can be extended to approximately 12 km round trip by including the Red Valley, known for its striking red-colored landscapes.

Red Valley is optional: it can be included in private tours. For shared group tours, the visit is possible only when the group's pace and available time allow it.

After the hike, continue with a 2.5- to 3-hour drive to Pacchanta, a small Andean village located at the foot of Ausangate Mountain, where you will spend the night.

The trek takes you through spectacular mountain scenery, passing a series of seven glacial lakes, each displaying different shades of turquoise, blue and green. Along the way, enjoy impressive views of Ausangate Mountain, one of the highest and most sacred peaks in the Cusco region.

The route reaches a maximum altitude of approximately 4,750 m (15,584 ft) and covers around 13 km round trip, starting and ending in Pacchanta.

After completing the trek, return to Pacchanta, where you can relax in its natural hot springs while enjoying views of the surrounding Andean mountains.

Finally, enjoy the 3.5-hour drive back to Cusco.
