The Sacred Valley & Machu Picchu Tour is one of the most complete experiences in Cusco, combining history, culture, breathtaking landscapes, and the visit to the world-famous Inca citadel. This itinerary allows you to explore the highlights of the Sacred Valley of the Incas on the first day, including archaeological wonders, traditional markets, and picturesque towns. In the afternoon, you will travel by train to Aguas Calientes, where you will spend the night before visiting Machu Picchu early the following morning.
This tour is perfect for travelers who want to maximize their time, discovering the most important Inca sites and the beauty of the Andes, while also enjoying Machu Picchu with enough time to explore and appreciate its majesty.













Itinerary
What you will do and explore with us
- In the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel in Cusco to begin a full-day journey through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, a region celebrated for its breathtaking scenery, fertile farmland, and remarkable archaeological sites.
- The first stop is Chinchero, where you will visit the archaeological site, where you can see a colonial church built on Inca foundations.
- Then we will stop at a traditional weaving center (demonstration of natural dyeing and weaving techniques)
- the second stop, will be in Moray, where you will get explanation of the circular agricultural terraces and learn about Inca farming experimentation and microclimates.
- The journey continues along the valley, passing picturesque Andean villages and following the course of the Urubamba River. You will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch in Urubamba, where you can savor both local specialties and international dishes, all while surrounded by stunning mountain scenery.
- In the afternoon, the tour takes you to the remarkable Ollantaytambo Fortress, a masterpiece of Inca architecture and urban planning. Here you will walk among massive stone terraces and temples while learning about the historical and strategic importance of this site during the time of the Inca Empire.
- As evening approaches, you will board the train at Ollantaytambo station for a scenic ride to Aguas Calientes, the gateway to Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Overnight in Aguas Calientes.
- After an early breakfast at the hotel, you will board the shuttle bus for a short but scenic ride (approximately 25 minutes) up the winding road to the entrance of Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
- Upon arrival, your professional guide will lead you on a comprehensive 2–3 hour tour of the citadel, taking you through its most iconic sectors: the Main Plaza, the Temple of the Sun, the Intihuatana ritual stone, the Temple of the Condor, agricultural terraces, and other remarkable constructions that showcase the architectural genius of the Incas. Along the way, you will learn about the history, spirituality, and mysteries surrounding this extraordinary sanctuary.
- After the guided visit, you will have free time to explore on your own, take photos, or simply sit and absorb the magical atmosphere. For those with prior reservations, this is also the opportunity to hike Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, both offering breathtaking panoramic views over the citadel and surrounding landscapes.
- In the afternoon, you will descend by bus to Aguas Calientes, where you will have some time to relax or enjoy a meal before boarding the train back to Ollantaytambo. From there, private transport will bring you back to Cusco, with arrival scheduled for the evening.
